Default Need Help

Hi Frnds
Finally I am planning to buy Nikon D5100 and have few features. I am not clear on few technical things. Could you please help me on this and What is the significance of those on the quality of pic.

Image Sensor: Nikon DX format (23.6 x 15.6 mm) CMOS sensor
Sensitivity: ISO 100 to 6400 in steps of 1/3, 1/2, or 1 EV, plus HI-0.3, HI-0.5, HI-0.7, HI-1, HI-2 (ISO 25600)
Shooting Modes: 1) Single frame, 2) Continuous: 4fps,

What is the role of the single frame & FPS?

Thanks in advance.

fps is frames per second. In this mode it will continously meter and focus and take shots as long as you hold the button down (depending on the quality of the images and how quickly it can write that data to a card - use a class ten if you can get it) basically this is burst mode. The biggest problem I've had using this mode is when you want to overexpose a face that is backlight. If you try to meter on a dark area and reframe the shot the camera will remeter the shot but otherwise its great for large group shots or sports.
