Default 2 Cards for D7000 ?

I am thinking more an more of buying a Nikon D7000. But it uses 2 card why.

This will be my 1st up grade. Can this camer use only 1 card or does it need 2 card to use

this camera? Why would a camera need 2 cards?

It doesn't NEED two cards: it CAN take 2 cards. This way you could have, conceivably, two 32GB cards in the camera and never need to change them.

The camera can use them either one after the other or so that one is a backup of the other.

If you use two cards you can configure card two to take "overflow" for when the slot one gets full it automatically saves more files in card two. Or if you take raw and jpeg files at the same time you can configure the slots so slot one is for raw and slot two is for jpeg files if you wish.

Hi, it is a great feature that most of entry level cameras do not have. You should be happy about it! Sometimes photo means more than a camera body. Digital data could not be trusted 100%, and the failure could because of many factors: a) memory card failure b) Contact failure c) CPU hang d) memory full etc etc etc. Having two cards means you can have "replicated" data. Sometimes when you move your photo to your CPU, your photos could be damaged, and you could have another copy of photos. .. Sometimes a photo costs more than a D7000 body..for those professionals.. (not for me,, photos mean nothing for me..)

In computing world, we always have 2 redundant backup for data. Well, I just lost my videos - D5100. That video is extremely important for me, in the court.. This will not happen if i own D7000, with 2 redundant copy.
