Default 80-200 1:2.8

hi all
I'm after some info on the following lense Nikon ED Nikkor AF 80-200 1:2.8 D Lens - Push Pull

There are 4 lenses in this series and not quiet sure which one it is. I know it is an older lense with no VR and the push pull worries me a bit, does it suck dust into the camera?

Is it still a good lense and worth a second look.

Cheers Jo

It's a very good lens, particularly on a crop body. It will suck in dust (probably not an issue) and moisture (possibly more of an issue).

Test before you buy - I tried a couple of the push-pull AF 80-200's on a D90 and was unhappy with the IQ, definitely back/front focus issues, but possibly general softness wide open, I didn't check in detail. Fortunately KEH has a no-questions return policy.

Mine was awesome, great FX coverage. No problems with dust or the like. Finally sold it ($50 less than I paid used) when the new 70-200 came out.
