The rear lcd on my D40 shows in greyscale and has some greenish horizontal lines through it. The only remedy I found is to put some pressure on the screen in certain places and then it flashes back to full color, but not for long. Seems like maybe just a loose connection within the camera but im not sure. Has anyone else had this happen or have an idea of the cost to repair? It may not even be worth the cost because of the age of the camera and my interest in upgrading

I doubt its worth fixing when the D40 sell for about $200 -225 in good condition. Sell it and get what you can for it ($100?) and upgrade!
