Is it me, or do most Nikons tend to underexpose?

I have noticed with all my Nikon bodies both past and present (D40, D80, D90, D5000, D300, D700) that I am constantly boosting the exposure in Lightroom. I typically have the cameras set to matrix metering. I now routinely shoot with the camera set at +1/3 ev or +2/3 ev and find I have much less tweeking to do in post processing on the exposure.

That's about par for me. Old D70, and a D40 both tend to underexpose.

Seems right. My d3100 is usually off by about -1/3. N60 by about -1.

Not sure it's just nikon, my samsung NX underexposes by about a stop. I haven't used a nikon.

I have found the same with my D7000

Ive always had my dSLRs set to +1/3 (they're under). My film body depends on the film, but its based on how that emulsion works.

I recently started underexposing to -1 or so and like the improvement. Before I felt I had to up the contrast/curves a lot.

So you are saying the exact oposite ????

that's because the optics in their lenses are made from discarded Sapporo beer bottles.

I find my D90 likes to overexpose - or at least, it likes to blow the highlights with the 28-105D and 300AF. So I usually shoot at -1/3 or -2/3 with those lenses. Not so much with the Tokina 12-24 or the 180AF, though.

It would be interesting to know if other people have found certain lens/body combinations that routinely tend to over- or under-expose.
