Default Holiday help!!

I'm currently in new Zealand on holidays and have spent the day hiking with my camera d3100 in my backpack no cover!! The problem is it rained heavily all day and the camera's lense has gone misty and I've no idea what to do! I've another three weeks of holidays left and really would love to take more pictures with my new camera. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This may not be exactly applicable, however, I once had this same thing happen to my P&S. All I did was to place it under an automatic hand dryer for some time. All the mist cleared in no time.....

I guess it is worth a try for your lens as well.

Do you have access to a pan of some kind, rice, and an oven?

If so, place the camera and lens, separated, in the oven. Put the rice in the pan and put the pan in with the lens (on a lower rack if you can). Close to the oven door. DO NOT TURN IT ON. Leave it overnight or longer. The rice will absorb the moisture.
