I've finally decided on the AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G lens for my Nikon D5000 and I read on a review site that the 50mm is really like 75mm for the DX models.
Is this true? I've read it only once but I want to be sure before I buy a lens. I don't want to have to be really far away from my subject...will this be a problem? Any help will be wonderful! And if that is true, am i better off checking out the 35mm f/1.8? THANK YOU! |

If you're in a small space, working distance will be a challenge. Optically, it's a 50, but the crop does affect what you see.

Ive only ever found 50mm on a crop to be an issue in VERY tight spaces (rooms less than 8'). Otherwise, it was fine, but YMMV

Indeed. I do most of my close-ups with that lens.
