Looking to upgrade from my D60...any suggestions on a good body to go with?
I was shooting an MMA fight last night and right before the main event started (Karo Parisyan was on his way to the cage) my camera stopped working (I think the shutter is stuck open or something), it's showing "Error: press shutter release button again" but when I do nothing happens. Needless to say I was not a happy photographer at the end of the night...didn't help that I was already feeling a bit inadequate sitting in the press box with my 70-200mm lens and the guy beside me was using what looked to be about a 400mm - 500mm lens. His pictures looked as though he was in the cage with the fighters...lol Anyways, even if the camera body can be fixed I guess I need to look at picking up another body so that doesn't ever happen again. I'd like to upgrade from the D60...any suggestions? Thanks Last edited by evader; 05-20-2011 at 12:15 PM. |

How about a D90 or a D7000? I figured since you are using a pro lens (most of the time I suppose). It all depends I think on what your needs are (like fps, number of focus points, FF or DX, high-iso performance etc.). If money is not an issue, then get the one that will last until it's time to upgrade again. But I have to say the D60 isn't that old of a body and will be of service to you for a few more years (if it gets fixed that is!). Good luck my friend!

D60 is covered under warranty but will be 8-10 weeks before I get it back.
I've been wanting to pick up an upgraded body for awhile now and am now leaning towards the D7000 and will keep the D60 as a backup body. |

I would definitely suggest D7000. Best value for money right now.
