N60 help.

Well I was playing around with an N60 (old Nikon film camera) I bought off Ebay, and after a few days, about half way into the roll I started having problems.
It focuses perfectly, but when I try to release the shutter, it gives me an ERR message in the viewfinder. If I switch it to manual focus it lets me shoot.
Its weird because everything else works perfectly, meter, focus, everything. Just when I try to shoot. Any ideas?

Have you tried switching lenses? Is it just something with one lens or several? Does the focus confirmation light work the way it's supposed to?

Only have the one lens, and the light works fine.
I just tried it again now, and it shoots fine on autofocus. Seems its only a problem after taking a few shots in one sitting.

Is the lens AF-S or AF-D?

AF-S. It`s fairly new.

You might try just gently cleaning the contacts between the body and the lens with a pencil eraser. Just make sure you don't get any debris into the mirror box.
