Smile Nikon D5100 announced

A few hours ago Nikon announced the Nikon D5100. The new camera has a 16.6 megapixel CMOS APS-C sensor and supports full-HD video. Also nice is its light sensitivity; up to 25,600 ISO!

I've been able to try a pre-production model at Nikon a couple of weeks ago. It's a nice model and I like the rotate and tilt display (that now swivels to the side instead of downwards). Looks to be a great camera for any entry level consumer, but is also powerful enough to fill the needs of many enthusiastic amateurs!

I've wrote up a preview of the Nikon D5100 on my blog.

So, what do you think about the new D5100?
A camera you're going to buy?

Looks pretty solid but I'm not crazy about all the decisions Nikon made with the controls. My biggest disappointment is the placement of the Live View switch under the main mode dial. It's not that that's a bad place for Live View but I would much rather have the drive mode switch, which even the lowly D3100 has, in its place. A lot of people seemed to like the way they did on the Live View switch on the D3100 so I'm not sure why they changed it.

Can't complain about the sensor, though. Look's sweet. And I like that it's closer in size to the D3100 than the D5000.

And with Night Vision enabled, goes to ISO 102,400.

Makes me excited for the D4/00

The design of Nikon D5100 is seem attractive. After reading reviews i can say this is good for entry level photographer but the price tag of Nikon D5100 is very high compare to other brand
