Default Service Time

Has anyone had their Nikon serviced before? How long did it take? They received my camera on Wednesday and it's been sitting in Estimate Approved status since then (it went straight to it since it's covered under warranty). I'm itching to get it back, so I was just curious if they updated your status and how long it was out for repair.

The issue is that it's not recording any sound when shooting video (D3100).

Warranty repairs tend to be pretty quick. It may just be that the status hasn't been updated. You should have it back in your hands within a week I would think.

Thank you for replying. The status has now been updated to "in shop." Hopefully it'll be done soon! I miss it!

We had to send in our d7000 recently. It was back in our hands in less than 10 days

I had my 70-300VR serviced (under warranty) a few months ago. It was, I think 8 days, sent, to received. Unlike other experiences, UPS merely left the box in a plastic bag below my mailbox. Surprising, and a little alarming, but everything was fine.

I'd rather sign than have it go missing
