The dust may be in on the pentaprism area too. Check the mirror again as well as the focusing screen

Almost certainly on the focusing screen - dust on the mirror will not generally show up in the viewfinder (nor in the photo, for that matter). A few blasts with a Rocket blower should dislodge it. If not, you can try physical cleaning with an appropriate cloth, but be very careful, the screen is soft plastic and will scratch easily. Also wear rubber gloves as you do not want greasy smears on the screen.
