I did not consider the nikon grip primarily because of the price.

I am hoping that I could get good info from DPS before making a purchase, I did check the phottix website, they seem very ok, just want to get user opinions.

I'm starting to be open to third party manufacturers

thanks

mike

That looks exactly like the zeikos grip that I have. I've had mine for about 2 months now and so far no problems.I wouldn't know how it compares to the nikon one, but I am happy with the purchase.

Well what I'm saying is that the zeikos and the phottix are probably the same thing, but sold under a different name.

I have the phottix grip. Works OK, does what it is supposed to do. Only problem is the plastic has worn smooth with the 30,000 images I have take with it on the camera. It no longer matches the camera body as it is smooth as a baby's butt and shiny where my hand rubs on the side while holding it in the landscape orientation
