Nikon D7000 + Lens Rebate (s) at Amazon = Free D7000 Body - Tell me what you think?

Hey DPSers,

Planning on getting myself a Nikon D7000 body soon and was wondering what you all think would be the best good lens to get?

I mainly do:

Product photos
Portraits
General everyday stuff
Parties/birthdays
Sports


I was thinking the 50mm f1.4 would be a good, if not great lens for most of those. What do you think? I'm fine using my feet for zoom, too.

You're right, it is, but lenses are a pretty safe market - as far as I can tell, they're like apple products: never on sale, and never more than a few bucks below amazon's price.

I've actually come up with a way to have none of my own money tied up in it at all and months to sell the lenses, but I'll keep that secret to myself.
