Default Possible upgrade...

Currently I have the d5000 not a bad camera to start off from being a old film user...
I have AF-S DX ED Lenses... 70-200,55-200, 18-105,35 and a 50.
What lenses will these best work with in regards to an upgrade. I do mainly children and portraits with an exceptional model / semi nude right now. I was thinking the d90 but am still swinging ...
Thank you all for your knowledge and help once more !!!!

The D90 and D5000 are very similar. If I'm not mistaken, the D5000 and D90 share a sensor, so you'll have no appreciable difference in images taken between the two. The D90 has flash controls and another control knob to make adjusting things easier than the D5000.

An upgrade would be to a camera like the new D7000. I wouldn't upgrade to an FX (full frame) camera, since all the lenses you have now are DX (crop sensor) lenses.

Another vote for the D7000 here. It would indeed be a true upgrade.,,,,

This is correct. An upgrade to the D90 would give you (i) more physical controls rather than going through the menu, (ii) built-in focus motor for use with AF lenses, (iii) some other things, but image quality is the same.

This is incorrect. He says he has the 70-200mm and the 50mm which is not a DX lens.
