Default Lens Purchasing Help!

I am traveling to Egypt soon and I am looking for a good landscape lens. I own a Nikon D5000. Does anyone have any input?

Well, the best would be the 16-35mm or the 14-24mm, but really, you haven't given enough information. What's the budget? How serious are you about shooting landscapes after Egypt? (Lenses aren't cheap and its a bit of an investment.)

For just general-purpose vacation landscaping, the kit 18-55 should be fine, tbh, but to each their own.

What is your current gear ?
Are you willing to carry some equipment or you just want to strap the camera around your neck and that's it ?
What are you looking to accomplish ?

These questions will allow us to be more precise in our recommendations.
