I bought a new camera a few months back, and my choice was between L110 and SX120IS, the predecessor to SX130. I eventually got the SX120 mostly because it was lighter (in terms of weight) which was very important to me, as well as cheaper (this was true for where I was buying from at the time, but might not be the case for you). Also, I liked that it only took two AA batteries vs four as the L110 does (if you get the SX130, get rechargeables, that line eats regular alkalines up very fast).
By the way, if you're interested in these two for the zoom factor, I believe Fuji also has a couple of comparable Finepix with 18x optical zoom. |

Canon has better product for most categories in the point and shoot market.
I bought the previous version to my ex-wife (the Nikon L100) and it's not a bad camera at all. The biggest downside is the 4 AA bateries. Not sure if they fxed that with the new version but we could not use rechargable batteries with the L100 (camera is looking for 4x1.5v and rechargeble are almost all 1.25...) The manual modes are almost none existant if you want to experience with that some day. I didn't like that but it wasn't for me ![]() If you can strech it, I found the SX210IS quite interested from a small camera. In fact, I bought one for my parents for Christmas and I had the chance to play with it a little bit. The lithium batterie is a big plus for me, the "zoom" is interesting, and the picture quality is good below ISO800. Plus, you can go in Full Manual mode very easily. A very nice small camera in my opinion. Hope this helps

Thanks Shokinen & elle s'ennuie for your suggestions. Finally I have purchased Canon SX130IS. Perhaps I will go for SX210IS , but the price difference is so much, particularly in my region. Thanks a lot again.
