I have been trying to find an ideal Point and Shoot camera for over 2 weeks now. I initially chose the Nikon Coolpix L22 because it has less shutter lag as compared to other cameras in the price range. But I got to know that it wont do Aperture/Depth of field (Important features). I have not used a Digital Camera before, I can do basic editing with GIMP and my budget is 150$ Max. Please tell me about which camera I should get. And tell me if Shutter Lag is that important a thing. Photo quality and Video quality (640x480 is fine) are important features for me as I might have to post reviews/video reviews on my blog: Tech Daba. Eagerly waiting for answers.

Hi,
You can't rule out shutter lag completely. It benefits the photographer to take pictures fast. In my opinion, it is the photographer's use - that decides the variation in shutterlag. I would like you to consider nikon S570 or nikon S3000 - hoping both will come under $150 in your place. Thanks Sticky |

I'll read the reviews of these cameras and then get back. Another question (Yes I am a newbie) The Nikon Coolpix L22 or any regular Point and Shoot won't let me fade in my photo's background leaving the object infront as it is? (http://www.problogger.net/wp-content/f-2.8.jpg) And I have heard alot about the Sony Cybershots. Do they really take great photos of moving objects?

Yeah, with $150 you're not getting anything.
