Hi All,
I have a question I'm curious about. With regard to the body of the D2H, are the innards of it (circuit board, aperture control unit etc) the same as the d2x (or even the d2xs)? What I'm saying is are they interchangeable? Thanks, just being curious! I shoot a D80!!!!

I`m not an expert, so I will defer to others,
But I highly doubt they are interchangeable, as the d2h uses an lbcast sensor - which is a unique nikon design, and would need very different circuitry from the ccd (or was it cmos) in the d2x. The memory buffers, pathways, motor for the mirror are all different - so I highly doubt you could piece together a working camera from a mostly ok but dead d2x and d2h. The aperture control circuitry itself might be transferable, but I would not be surprised if it were integrated into a larger board - so that one couldn`t use it as is. |
