Default Use both USB and HDMI simultaneously?

I want to connect my D90 to my laptop for use with some software, but want the in-camera view to display on a TV via HDMI. It seems like when I plug one in the other dies. Is this possible?

Thanks!

Nope. Sorry. The camera can only output one at a time.

I also notice that if you try to connect the camera on a 16:10 monitor it doesn't work.

HD resolution have a 16:9 ratio and the camera does not convert it.
