They basically tear it apart in the conclusions, but then give it an 80%.

DPReview has really gone downhill, and they're far too technical. I appreciate precision, but not to that extent.

But they always do that! Look at the 50D review. They essentially say save your money keep your 40D, and then give it a "highly recommended".

I'd blame lack of sleep. Given that they've got "we're hiring!" notices up, and they can only afford to pay in webhits , one assumes they're shorthanded at this time. I mean, that's a lotta shots of test charts and squinting over numbers.

Yeah well, ...that's why I said interesting reading

I like the technical portion of it because no one in stores can provide me that kind of detailed information. The conclusion portion to me is closer to an editoral then a review and I hate the score at the end because this is not based on any official scale. But that's not only DPReview that does that. Gamespot for game, Tomhardware for computer, they are all the same. And they tend to change as they go bigger...it's a business...

You have to use the information to your advantage. Most people rely to much on these review and they forget to ask themsleve why they are really looking for a new camera..

I'm keeping my D90 hehehe

everytime anything new comes out, people always have to bash it

That wasn't my point at all, but okay.
I was arguing that their arguments in the main body contradict the conclusion.
