Question help with "click" noise coming from inside camera????

Hello

I own a Nikon D3000. Yesterday while I was using it, I noticed a sort of "click" noise that seems to be coming from inside, after I use the focus button (press half way down)..

When I press the button half down to focus and/or after I take a photo with the camera, the inside mirror or lens (I'm not sure) seems to make a click noise and shift up, some time after taking the shot. It's like, I can see the photo in the eye piece sort of move back up in place.

Does anyone know what can be the problem and how I could solve it? I'm really worried.... I'm sure I didnt drop the camera. What can be the problem?

Thank you so much

That's VR. Its in the lens, actually. The click is the VR system engaging (starting) and disengaging (stopping).

It's normal. Some lenses actually hiss like a running faucet when VR is running (my 70-300, for instance).

Hi
Thanks for the reply.

Are you sure its the VR and not some bigger problem? It didnt happen before....
I'm sorry if I sound doubting, but it really scared me, coz I thought I'd broken something as soon as I got it =S

I thought it was a broken mirror or something....
The lens I can see inside, sort of shifts upward....
Thanks again...

If you can see the image shifting through the viewfinder, then its VR. It shouldnt move much (it should be only barely perceptible). If it's serious, then you may have a VR issue.
