Hello
![]() I recently bought a second hand D80 with approx 30k shots made by it. I am using a 20 year-old Nikkor AF 1:3.3-4.5 35-70mm lens on it and sometimes I screw on a wide angle X 0.45 adapter when I want to go wide ![]() There is nothing worst than coming back home from a nice stroll with the dog and uploading the photos you have made on your PC and discovering that there are dust specs in those nice sky pictures :/ I have used the cloth for my sunglasses to clean the glass of the lens and the glass that separates the mirror and CCD from the eye-viewer. It's OK for a while then the dust comes back. Is that normal? Sorry for the potentially newbie questions here but I am very new to photography and am still getting to grips with it ![]() Thank you for your time in advance! |

Never clean the mirror or CCD glass wit ha cloth - you will cause more damage than you solve. The mirror only impacts the view in the finder, not what the camera takes. It would help if you posted a picture, but it sounds like sensor dirt. Do a search of the forum and you will find many detailed explanations on how to resolve it. If you are concerned about doing damage, which you can do, take it to a local camera shop and they can clean it for a nominal fee, maybe even for free if you are nice.
