Default Nikon 105mm AF Micro

I have an opportunity to purchase a Nikkor 105mm 1:2.8 Macro (this is the older model) from my company which has seen VERY little use. I can get it for $225. Sounds good to me, but what kind of issues can I expect when using it on my D3000? Thanks for the input.

No AF. That's about it.

Which, for macro, isn't exactly terrible.

unless you also want to use it as a long portrait lens. In which case its still not too terrible, but maybe not to preference.

If you can live without the Autofocus or some of the Auto modes, like P and S, then it might be a good choice. It's certainly a lot less than a brand new Nikon 105mm micro lens.

It'll still work on P and S and A modes. We're talking about the AF model, not AI-s or AI
