Default my first dslr

To buy D3000 or D5000? is the question. I have used a few pos cameras and thinking it's time to move up the ladder.

I think at this point the D3100 is a better option unless you need the D5000's tilt screen.

d5000 hands down! I have it and I LOVE it. It's a good starter camera.

It's basically dependent on the budget. I have the d5000 and love it, but I would also love the 3100 live af. I wouldn't get the 3000 unless money is a huge concern. Look over them, preferably hold them is a store, and decide which feature set fits you best.

Ken Rockwell should not be trusted so quickly. Read his "review" of the 18-200mm and then search through this forum to see what photographers think of the lens.
