It is a nice lens, I don't have it (yet) but I tried it out a couple times.

Being a prime and true macro lens is definitely different from the 70-200 (which is a great lens BTW) and the use might be more interesting giving you the possibility to get up close and personal on flowers, insects and small thing in general. You get a different view of the world when you start doing macro.

I'd buy the Sigma 150mm f/2.8....oh, wait, I did.
(VERY nice lens, don't use it nearly enough to justify the expense)

Same reason why I haven't splurged yet for the 180....I bought the 90mm and was a hoot to use but I find it more often on my shelf than on my camera/camera bag.

hello

i have a growing interest in doing macro. my 28-75 isnt cutting it but i still love it as my everyday lens.

i also considered the 180mm because of the tele.

the nikkor options i have considered will break my bank.. hehe

hoping to have the best of both worlds.. near and far. with this, would this lens still be a good option?

thanks

mike
