I know that most Nikkor lenses work on the D-5000 and the Nikon site goes into great detail about it. They go into so much detail I find it more confusing than helpful. My primary interest is astrophotography so I don't care about autofocus, stabilization, and coupling. I wonder if it might not be easier to list Nikkor lenses that could damage a D-5000 or be unsuitable for some other reason. Does such a list exist?
Thanks, Rich |

actually - I find Ken Rockwells table (scroll down here Nikon Lens Compatibility) usefull for this, surprisingly
With the d5000, the only thing that is a problem are the old fisheye`s that have the rear part of the lens sticking into the mirror box - those lenses you had to use the mirror locked up - as the mirror would hit the end of the lens and, break. Those are few and far between. |
