Hi,
Hope you can help me with my problem, I had a Nikon D70 with two lenses, 35-70 and 70-210. I was unfortunate to have a burgleary at my home in May and my camera and equipment was taken. My insurance was new for old and are about to pay out, my problem now is do I replace all of my kit and go for a Nikon d90, or do I just go for the D300s and a good lens and start building the kit over he months?. I am quite new to DSLR type cameras, only having had one for one year, but have enjoyed every minute of my camera and can not belive how much I have missed it since it was stolen. I am very much the type of person who will read any information and play around with my equipment untill I reach a level I feel is perfect for me. I will take advice and act on it but will not give up untill what I try to achive feels right. so I need help in deciding if nI should go for more kit, or a better camera? I have read so many reviews about the D90, D300 and the D300s and really am now confused about what to go for. Please Help Regards Mags |

I'd actually suggest waiting, if you can, for reviews on the D7000 (the D90 replacement). It's set to be quite the camera, at least on paper. If you can, wait for some in-depth reviews and a proper verdict before buying, or wait until it hits stores and try it, the D90 and D300s out one after another, taking pictures onto your OWN memory card to review at home on a computer.

Wait a bit for the new releases then buy a USED D90 and spend the rest on high quality glass.
I've bought all of my gear a couple years behing the release and most of it used....I've spent around 60% of the cost of new/ latest greatest and I've got some NICE gear.
