I somehow lost the battery cover on my Nikon D 60. Is that something that can be user replaced (and where would I get one) or do I need to take it to a dealer and have the whole bottom replaced. Thanks for any help.

they can be found. seems expensive though. I'd try eBay first.
d60 battery cover - Google Product Search (for those prices, I'd just use tape and a piece of cardboard.) |

Check with a local shop. THe door isnt really supposed to come off, so you may have another issue.

Isn't the door designed to come off so you can use a grip like on the D90, D300, etc?

The D60 doesnt have a Nikon-designed grip, so I was under the impression the door wasnt removable. Most of the grips ive seenfor the D40/40x/60/3000/5000 bodies have had the door move into a slot on the grip, where it's out of the way, but not off.

Thanks to all who replied about my problem with the battery cover. There was a happy ending. My wife was cleaning out the back of her car and found it. It has 2 small plastic pins that you need to use a little force to slide back into the pin holes and it will lock in place. It seems like kind of a cheap setup but it's not really an expensive camera. Thanks to
