Default D90 Replacement - D7000 Rumored Camera?

So, this is probably very premature, but if any of you are following "Nikon Rumors", you're probably anticipating this just like I am!

So, how accurate do you think these rumors are? Do you think the D7000 will be the camera to replace both the D90 and the D300s with ISO performance like the D700? And if so, will you be purchasing it immediately? I think I will. It would be a perfect second body to add to my collection.

What do you think?

i also read that.. its got INSANE ISO capabilities.. they are very often right those rumours.
i dont follow it, but they do get very very close to what is actually released.

the sensor in the D90/D300 is old now and it IS time to replace it.. so i wouldnt be surprised by this move.

by what i read its going to be inbetween the D90 and D300.. (but better sensor) which is interesting considering that its prettymuch attacking the 50D's slot in the rankings. but with performance like a D700... *gurgle*

i'm loking forward to seeing a D300s replacement though... even tough i wouldnt buyit right away. (only because i just bought a D300s)

i need some serious glass upgrades so a body needs to wait a while.... as much as a want/need that iso performance.

this will just add to my confusion! Currently shooting with a Sony, but am going to upgrade... I can redeem my amex points and get a d5000 for free or spend a few extra dollars and get the d90, and know you throw this into the mix!!....my thinking was if I get the 5000 I would have 1k for new glass, as opposed to spending that on the sonya850 and using my exisint glass.....i'm betwixted and between!

Oh yeah... for sure wait! Or get the D5000, since it's pretty new. But yeah, I'd wait!

I can hardly wait, either, though. That ISO performance makes me drooool.

Wait another week or two for the announcement and some tests.

Yeah, I am waiting in the wings on hope the D90 replacement is all that the rumors say it is. I am ready for my upgrade, and although I'd like to go up further than that, but my budget will not allow it.
I am really saving my pennies for that upgrade (although i might just snag a D90 when the time comes as the costs will be low)

Definitely looking forward to the new ISO capabilities for the high school football and marching band seasons.

Actually it might be worth looking at the 3100, it's a replacement for both the 3000 and the 5000, it comes out this month and it looks like a pretty sweet entry level dslr.
