Default Can the sound be turned off on the D90?

I have a D90, yes it is relatively new, so still learning all of its features. Is there a way to turn the sound of the shutter off? I know some cameras have this and to be honest I didn't think about it when I bought it so never asked. I hope there is a way to do this, but I haven't found it yet. The reason is I want the camera as quiet as possible for shooting things like animals and other nature shots etc. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this on this model? Thank you.

JG.

No, that's actually the sound of the shutter (not an electronic noise). The only sound you can turn off is the focus beep.

+1....oh hell, +100

The sound of the shutter on point and shoots is a fake noise they added to make it look/sound cool. You're not going to be able to turn off the sound of a real shutter in a DSLR. It's a mechanical noise.
