D300 fps setting question
It seems to me that my D300 its not shooting very fast in terms of frames per second - seems slower than my D90. What setting could I have possibly screwed up that is slowing her down. I have the selector on Hi not lo.

Most like culprit would be the focus lock requirement.

Are you shooting 14-bit NEF? Switch to 12-bit for motor drive.
CH or CL? You can change the CL speed in the custom functions.

Camera is set at CH and raw is set to 14bit. I would guess the camera is firing at about 2fps. Focus priority is set to focus. Maybe that is it, but I don't see why you would set it to release and get lots of out of focus shots.

For continuous shooting I have mine set to focus+release, just seems to work better. Especially on rapidly moving/changing subjects. (and focus set to C). For other subjects I set the lens to S and the setting is focus (trap focus settings).
