Nikon D700 and Memory Cards

I finally have this wonderful camera in my hot little hands!

BUT............

When I put the compact flash card (SanDisk Ultra 200x) in the camera I get a message in the top monitor that says CHA - I have tried to format the card in camera - I have also formated it in my computer then re-inserted it in and still no dice!!!

Anyone else have this problem? Solutions? ARGH!!!

Try another card, that one may be dead.

If it is dead, you may try giving SanDisk a call.

I have tried 2 cards - same make and model mind you and I get the same message - tried a completely different card 2 days ago and i get the same thing!

If I format it in the camera for the first time does it take awhile? Maybe I am not being very patient!

Try going into the menu and selecting format memory card. See if that does anything.

If the camera is actually formatting the card, the counter will read [for].
