Default Nikon D80

Hi
My D80 is getting up to now taking nearly 900 shots, am I supposed to get my camera serviced soon? I have heard that once your camera hits about 1000 shots you should get it serviced, or replace it? so I am not sure, I live in Perth Western Australia, and not sure where to get it done. Any ideas, also if I were to upgrade, what difference is the dx to the fx? and is it better for wedding/portrait photography?

900? You're fine. I've taken more than 900 in a few hours of shooting.

Seriously. I get 900 on a single set of batteries. I've got a conservative 25k so far.

Wow, where did you hear something like that? I'm curious, because I want to go find those people and see what they're trying to sell you. :P

I've heard of people doing a preventive curtain change on every 10.000, but never of doing unnecessary repairs on 1000... Maybe you've missed a zero?

When you get to 90,000 it is probably time to consider service.

I shot about 20 gig of images last weekend.... At that rate, I would be on my 4th service or camera.
