A few weeks ago I got by D5000 and I love it! However I want a step up from the 18-55mm lens.
I love taking pictures of nature, landscape, and wildlife so I'm thinking of buying the Nikon 55-200mm VR. I feel like the zoom on the 18-55 is not far enough for me especially when I'm taking pictures of wildlife, I am unable to get close enough to the subject with the lens at its maximum focal length because it scares the subject away. So I'm just wondering, what is the 55-200mm VR lens like and if its worth getting. Also, what is the difference between US and Imported lenses. I have noticed the imported ones are a lot cheaper. |

The 70-300 is definitely worth it if you can swing the extra green. (full-frame compatible, front element doesn't rotate when focussing, better build quality- heavier, but sturdier, and faster in general). If not, the 55-200 will suit you just fine.
