Hello everyone, yesterday I recieved my new nikon d5000 in the mail and after I went out to take a few test shots I noticed a strange orange dot in a few of the photos. The photos are attatched below.
The thing is though that this orange dot was only in 4 of the 180 photos I took so I would like to know, is this the something wrong with the camera or just something reflecting like the sun? Thanks for reading, Gearz |

1. were you shooting into the sun?
2. was the dot in the same place on all the images or did t move around? 3. did you change the lens at all or did you use it straight out the box? in saying that... i cant say i've ever seen lens flare or dust that looks like that.

Looks like it's just lens flare...

Yep, it's lens flare. Be careful when pointing your lens near the sun -- especially when it's just barely off to the side.
