Default D5000 - how to increase flash power

How can I increase flash power? looks like inbuilt flash is very low for me. I know I can increase ISO setting but want to see Can I fire powerful flash with my D5000?

You can also get an external flash, like the SB-400, SB-600, etc. They'll be MUCH more flexible and powerful for you.
