I have read several articles about the in camera noise reduction software in the D300. I have owned my D300 for just about a year and overall have been extremely happy with it. I do shoot weddings and often find myself if situations shooting in low light. For the most part the high ISO performance is pretty darn good.
The articles I read suggest that many find better high ISO results if they actually turn off the in camera sharpening as well as the noise reduction software and address the issues in post processiong. I am just curious as to if anyone here has tried that and if so what kind of results you ended up with? I know there is no magic fix to make a d300 work like a D3 in low light. If only I had the budget to go pick up a D700 or D3! One can only dream!
