Congratulations on the new glass. I know that you will enjoy it. Now all we need are some sample shots.

Default I want it too!!

Extremely green with envy!! I have D700 with 50mm 1.4. Had a D200 with 18-200 (don't tell anyone, I still sometimes use it with my D700 and it's never been better in good light, and never been worse in poor light). I'd love the Nikon 24-70. In the absence of money i purchased the Tamron 28-75mm 2.8. I'd say it's 80% of the Nikon though it can hunt in very low light. But I want your lens - and I'll deal with the extra weight.

Congrats on the new glass.

I was back, and forth on that lens or the 17-55 2.8, I went with the 17-55 due to the need for wide.

Unless you have to have VR, I'd look into the 80-200 2.8, I love mine to death, and it was several hundred less than the 70-200.
