Question Lost

Okay Ladies and Gents. I eas given a D3000 for x.mas I'm trying to find on my CD a way to shoot B+W am I missing something or do I have to go color first then convert over in the screen to monochrome. This digi stuff is new to me so please forgive I'm use to my film cameras. Thank You

Yep, you can shoot in B&W easily. Just go to your picture controls (which should be in the shooting menu), then select the monochrome option.

While it can be done in-camera, I would recommend shooting in colour and converting it to black and white once on a computer.

I'm with the "shoot in colour / adjust to monochrome" crowd. I wrote a short tutorial about my favourite technique a while back, which you may find useful.
