It's a lovely lens. Lightweight, nice range, reasonably good image quality. The VR is much more useful at 55-200 than it is on the 18-55.

It's not the best lens -- there are lenses which are faster, longer, higher build quality, better image quality -- but this one does a good all-around job at a great price. You won't notice problems unless you're using it in specific circumstances (such as sports photography, in which case you want something much different).

The lens is a great lens for the price. It is actually sharper at 200mm than the 18-200VR. Just keep in mind that it is not a fast lens, but what do you expect for $200. Its a good compliment to your 18-55mm lens.

The lenses that came with my kit was a 55-200VR. I am just getting used to this camera, and have used mostly the 18-55, but felt good the few times I used the longer lens, and the quality is good.
