Default Camera Advice

Sorry, 2 posts in one day and I haven't posted for ages!

I have a Nikon D60 and I'm getting a bit frustrated with the fact that AF will not work on all lenses. I've just bought a 50mm f1.8 AF and I thought because it had AF in the name it would work fine. I've received it and I have to use manual - soething I'm sure I will get used to but I am disappointed.

Can anyone tell me what the next camera in the Nikon DSLR range has AF built in and doesn't rel y on the lens having it? Would this allow me to use my current lenses or would I have to start all over again with my collection? I have a Nikkor18-55mm and a 70-300mm Tamron in addition to my 50mm....

Any advice, I am keen to keen with the Nikon, I love it!

D60 needs Nikon AF-S (not AF), Sigma HSM and Tamron BIM lenses to AF.

All your existing AF lenses will auto focus with a D90.

Or, the D80 as well. Older, but works great for most things.

All the new Nikon lenses designated as AF-S, the AF work on your D60, but older lenses will not have AF function.
One way of knowing if any older lenses (Nikon or other name Brands) will work on your D60 is to look at the lens rim (the one that touches the camera body when you attach the lens) and if it has a revolving slot (like a screwdriver) when you move the AF, it will not AF on your camera.

The D50 has the motor in the body. I happen to be selling one at the moment.
