Default Review Pictures on Computer D60

I was watching "Nikon School - Guide to creative lighting" DVD and as an aside, great video.

When he was taking pictures, he was immediately bringing them up on a computer (the camera was already connected with the USB to the computer) and reviewing them on the monitor. I can see how this would be handy and tried to figure out how I could do this, but could not find an easy way like they were showing on the video.

Does anyone know how this can be done, or am I looking at needing to spend money on a program like Nikon Capture to make this happen?

You can use software called Capture One Pro or Nikon's proprietary software, CaptureNX I have only used CaptureOne, so am not sure how well CaptureNX works.

you can do it in aperture too (lightroom too?)- You have to use camera tethering, and in your settings, go to (assuming same menus as D40): Setup menu (Wrench) > USB option > M/P (by default, its on mass storage, or MASS. Also, this means that you won't see hardware attached to your computer (at least not your mac; if you have an iPhone, it'll be like that) when you connect to your laptop.

There is a free script you can use to capture the images direct from a Nikon: DIYPhotobits Camera Control which will dump the images into a folder on your computer, then you can use Lightroom (or any other tool that will load images from a folder automatically) to display them.

I have pulled down the demo of Capture One Pro and it seems to work like a charm. I guess I will play with it for the next 30 days or so and see if it is worth the price.

Thanks,
