testing close up +4 filter

Did a small test here just to show. Camera on tripod on focusing rail. Camera was set at 1.1 ratio everything set on manual. VR off. Limit switch set at full. All focusing done by moving the camera in on focusing rail. Without touching any settings on camera 1.) First pic without filter. 2.) Second pic with filter had to move camera in exactly by 2" inches to focus. Did it magnify? No. Did it move the camera in closer? Yes. I had to prove this to myself. Enjoy

What do you mean it didn't magnify? im almost certain the 8 in the 2nd photo is larger..

The lens in this test has a minimum focus distance of 12'' inches. When the filter was installed it moved the lens in by 2" inches. That's 10" inches to object. They just bring you in closer. That's why they call them close up filters. Not magnifiers. The true term diopter. If I had a +10 diopter on may be 5" closer. I believe they just help you to focus closer. Yes the 8 is bigger, is it magnified or is it the lens just being closer that makes it look like being magnified

i need some information about goggles while working on computer i used to face aquite pain problem in eyes so how i resolve this problem

I would have expected that the second one might be softer around the edges, but it's odd that it is only soft along the top, but OK on the bottom. Possible focus issue? Anyone have another explanation?

I just got back from MY photoshop to check this out. After blowing the picture up bigger, the bottom of the 8 & inch mark it does show fade or softening at that point. The picture here don't show it at all. To my guess the convex in the tape at the bottom of the 8 & lighting glare can't see it that good here. You had me thinking. Thanks
