I use Kenko extension tubes - be aware they will not work with EF-S lens.
Here is shot of my macro setup, using Canon's remote software to 'drive' the camera, including fine focusing & DOF preview. ![]() Here is a stamen within a lily taken with extension tubes. ![]() The Canon EOS Utility supports the followings functions with a 40D: Remote Live Shooting Full focus control (course/med/fine) Depth-of-Field preview X10 Zoom in window to aid fine focus Shutter release Test shooting Option to store the image on the camera / computer / camera & computer Select the storage location on the computer Depending on the mode selected on the camera the following exposure settings can be controlled remotely: Av Aperture Tv Shutter Speed M Shutter Speed & Aperture Other settings that can be set via the computer include: Image quality RAW /JPEG variations Picture style WB ISO Metering mode EV +2 to -2 Time delay Interval timer Bulb shooting Owner’s name Date/Time Firmware I have found in practise this software easy to use & produce good results + it is bundled free with the camera. |
