Nikon D300 Tamron SP AF90mm f/2.8 Di Macro - Aperture 45 Speed 1/60 ISO 200mm

Took this at dusk after a rain storm. Do you like the composition?

I really do like it. It does look otherworldly. Awesome color, too. Was a flash used? And a tripod? And did you mean 4.5 instead of aperture 45?

it is nice and sharp, but I think it bothers me a bit that I can't see more of the petals. Would a vertical shot be better to better accommodate the spike.

I like it and I agree either more of or less of the petals. I think verticle would have been the way to go. Can you crop it that way and repost to see if it makes a dramatic difference?

I took this with a flash and my D300 & Tamron 90mm Macro Lens at 45. I will re-crop and post in vertical. Thanks for the advice.
