Default nobody told me how much macro HURTS!!!!

I need a purple heart for this photo!!! "Oh she must have gotten stung" you say? I wish the story was that mundane!
I was out in my backyard photographing anole lizards. Yes, I know this is not a lizard. I am not that much of a wildlife dummy! While out there a wasp landed near me. Wasps are rare this time of year so I stopped terrorizing the anole and framed this bad boy. After taking this shot I decided I didn't like the angle, I wanted to get eye to eye with it. SO I bend down, getting everything in the frame and just as I was about to snap the shutter I realized my knee had rested on a fire ant hill. For those who don't have fire ants ~ these things sting almost as bad as a wasp! I had about 300 tiny ants biting and crawling up my leg into "THAT PRIVATE REGION" that we women have!! So I jump up ..oh wait CAMERA ...can't let the camera fall... grab and secure camera!!! I fall forward trying to secure my camera right into this lovely little critter. Yup, then I got stung =/
Its a jungle out there!!

I love it. Add this to the "you must be a photographer if..." thread. Here's a couple more:

"Did you get a light-trail photo when the ambulance came?"

"How did you manage to get the soft-boxes into the ER in the first place?"

"Can you recommend an antibiotic cream that won't make my camera all greasy?"

"Do EKG machines interfere with Radio Poppers?"

HA HA HA HA Yup that sounds about right! That was the funny part for me, I had to secure the camera before I beat the ants off of me HA HA

I hope you didn't have to strip off your britches to get at the ants. The old "Fireants in the pants dance" by Praline...Well, the photographer in me would have liked to seen it and snap off a few.

We have plenty of those fireants here in TX. I NEVER kneel, sit or lay down on the ground without a complete survey of the area for ant piles.

Normally I look too but I was in that "camera get the shot zone" and was trying to be quick before it flew off. Live and learn HA HA

My leg is swollen this morning and muscle sore. I have about 30-40 bites =( I have been taking Bendryl both oral and cream. I can breathe and my leg isn't falling off so I think I can handle it without the ER LOL

I thought it was funny and that was part of the problem, I was laughing so hard I couldn't get the ants off in time! The wasp sting to the shoulder didn't hurt near as much as all of those ants!

Praline

Some of us old timers were taught to mentally pervisualize images. In this case mental overload. Nice Image (not saying which one).

Your as bad as hubby!

He came home, saw the damage and said, "Well I guess romance is out tonight, huh?"

I had to give him that dirty look we wives are famous for
