Default Overdone water crowns...but for a purpose!

...so I know there have been a lot of water crowns lately, but I have a few that turned out pretty cool. One of them is for a project for the weekly assignment (Top Secret), but wanted to share the results so far. Thanks for looking. Hopefully we'll make some sense of the this new SYS format. Ciao!

Blue Crown

I like this one for it's "self" reflections in the crown tips. check out the larger size for the detail.
Puple Crown

Bullseye (for a DPS project, but not done yet!) I used an archery target underneath a glass pie plate.
Bullseye

Here's the setup for those interested. I use the second tripod on top of the table, precisely aligned so I could place the water dropper repeatably for a bullseye drop every time. I used a pie plate (with no embossed writing on the bottom) and filled it with about 3mm of water...and started shooting. Have fun with it!

Awesome results Jim! I especially love the setup pic too - apart from the bad news that I now need a 2nd tripod! Although I do have a Gorillapod, so maybe I can use him somehow. Love the shot for your assignment, but the side-on shots are super cool too.

Loved the timing on the second one where another drop is about to go into the crown

You did a great job on capturing the 'water crowns'! I esp like the bullseye

Wow the bullseye is awesome but so are all of these shots. Thanks for showing your setup.

Excellent crowns, Jim!! I really like them. Had a go at them over the weekend, but it was another fail. Thanks for showing your set up...guess I'll keep trying.

Thanks for sharing. I really love the first two especially!

Nice work there Jim. I haven't gotten to that yet, but perhaps someday. For now I'll let the experts take care of that stuff.

After watching that set up. I now see why I have never tried the water drop, looks like fun though, oh and the results justified the effort. I especially like the bullseye one. TFS

These results are great Jim, I like the set up too. I have yet to try this myself.
