Default still training for macro shots

I'm still training for macro photos. Because I do not have a SLR camera, I use a camera point-and-shoot Sony Cybershot DSC P92 (an old camera, huh?). Please tell me what you think and what can I do to improve this photo. Thanks.

Looks like you are doing good. On the first photo, I might adjust the colors for a little more saturation to make stand out a little more. You also might not want to always center the subject in the frame, but with close up you have very little room to vary the framing. Keep it up.

Do you mind if I download your photo file and play with it in post processing? I won't claim any rights, but I like the first photo, and would like to see what I can do with it.

Hi Ikkomatool and welcome to DPS. You may have an old camera, but you are obviously mastering it well, and whats more important keen to experiment, share and learn. Keep posting and questioning and we are all here to help. On the subject of macro, might I respectfully suggest that strictly speaking your shots are more close-up's than macro's. This is a macro, and necessitates a macro lens. I hope you can get one soon, as macro is a whole new and fascinating world which I think you would enjoy. God bless. PAUL

Default A little more saturation

All I did was increase the saturation. I think it makes the photo better, but you be the judge. I used Irfanview, which is free. You can download it IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide.
