Default close-ups

These photos are not really MACRO, they are shot with my Minolta 100-300 mm lens set at 300 mm at, or close to, the minimum focus distance. Anything in nature is fair game for me .

Insect and Flower
This would be much more effective if I had focused on the eyes.

Yes it's a amazing what these bigger lens can do. This is my first shot taken with Nikon 300 f/4 AF-S straight from the box. This pic was taken 6 feet away minimum focus on this is lens is 4'-8" I was totally shocked after down-loading this pic. I said, MAN I just bought another macro lens. I bought this lens to be my birdie lens. I just can't wait to put on a 1.4 teleconverter. Take a look. JIM_4995-1

Cool shot Jim. I have ordered a new extension tube set that fits my Minolta / Sony AF lenses. Then I can add 12 to 100mm extension to my 300mm lens. I can't wait to try it.
